The best way to install Inkscape is by using the Ubuntu Sotware Center.
Simply open Software Center and search on Inkscape.
You see two entries for Inkscape one is the Snap version which is updated more regularly and the other is the .deb version. We recommend the snap version which is highlighted in the picture above. after picking your version click on it and follow the install proccess.
You can also install Inkscape from PPA:
Open terminal either by pressing Ctrl+Alt+T on keyboard or by searching for ‘terminal’ from system application menu. When it opens, run command to add the PPA:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:inkscape.dev/stable
Type user password (no asterisk feedback) when it prompts and hit Enter.
run command in terminal to check updates and install the editor:
sudo apt update sudo apt install inkscape
You can also install Inckscape via a Snap application:
Open terminal either by pressing Ctrl+Alt+T on keyboard or by searching for ‘terminal’ from system application menu.
Then type the following:
sudo snap install inkscape
